What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. set out its plans in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal roles at its Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores and at select supply chain sites, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Store roles are part-time, and Macy's says event times may vary by location.

Now the honest part. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its own stores this year, and San Jose and the wider Bay Area aren't on that list. The hiring days still run at stores nationwide, including all three South Bay locations. Macy's hasn't published a headcount for any of them.

🗺️ Three Stores, Three Corners of the Valley

Oakridge. The Westfield Oakridge store sits on Thornwood Drive off Blossom Hill Road, minutes from Highway 85. It's the easy pick for Blossom Valley, Santa Teresa and Almaden.

Eastridge. The Eastridge store anchors the mall at Tully Road and Capitol Expressway, a short hop from Highway 101. It's closest for Evergreen and Alum Rock.

Valley Fair. The Valley Fair store is on Stevens Creek Boulevard near I-880, on the Santa Clara side of a mall that straddles the city line. It works for Rose Garden and West San Jose.

One pay detail worth knowing: San Jose and Santa Clara each set their own minimum wage, and the legal floor follows the address where you actually work, not where you live. Macy's says every posting lists its pay range, so check the number before you apply.
